Modern urinals becoming popular

rachelcook by rachelcook Refurber Founder(June 2007) (rank 238th)
The design of bathrooms are becoming more and more unique, stylish and modern.

One of the things I missed was the rise in popularity of the stylish self-flushing urinal. I had a friend who has spent 3 years building their house and once the house was finished, the father of one boy and girl, was the most proudest to show off his modern urinal that self-flushed for himself and his son.

I had no idea how popular this extra addition into the bathroom was becoming until I moved myself into a year old newly renovated house in a suburb of San Francisco. I was surprise to see two self-flushing urinals and realized after much thought that in fact, was such a great idea for the men in the house to have something was convenient and just for them.

I know mostly the focus is on the vanities, lighting, and the look being mainly for the ladies of the house. We do like to spend time in our bathrooms, doing make up or relaxing after a long day in the bath. It is definitely a plus not having to ask for the toilet seats to be put back down all the time

In terms of value and look to the house, it does look modern, a real luxury. With much thought has gone into the design, and how the toilet would fit into a small area.

It is becoming popular from a stylish point of view, as well as having something new and unique, if not practical. Modern, luxurious bathrooms are now not just about the spa or granite tops, but also about the luxury of the space, which is bringing about smarter ideas to "blend in" or make "a statement" about the toilets. It is definitely a trend in renovations wanting to add more "statements" and "talking points" for this bathroom space.

Whatever you do, do not install waterless urinals. I guess this is the Greenies version of trying to cut down water usage in the bathroom/toilet, but they are extremely bad for the plumbing system.
