How to get the most out of Refurber

mdhaworth by mdhaworth Journeyman(August 2007) (rank 3rd)
I've been looking around the site and noticed several features of Refurber that I hadn't seen before. I wanted to share a few things I noted and hope you will add your advice for using Refurber in the comments.

Under the "My Profile" section (click on "My Profile" in the left sidebar)
  • Awards--I like to see what awards I've got and what level I'm at.  If you hadn't noticed, the little shield next to each person's name changes based on how much they participate in the community.
  • Statistics--You can see what you've contributed and, most interestingly, which of your advice columns received the best and worst ratings
  • Watchlist--Click watchlist and then click on the "configure watchlist" button. At the bottom of the configure page you can set settings so you receive emails when advice articles or questions you have flagged for watching are updated.  This is a great way to keep track of a question you've asked or track feedback and questions in response to an advice article you've contributed.

Under the "Members" section you can see a list of Refurber members and the little flags showing what country they live in.  In addition to all the Americans and Aussies there are members from Guatemala and the Bahamas!

I know there are many more features to take advantage of at Refurber. Anyone using the "Lounge" feature? Please help improve this advice article by commenting.
Any contributed content above is the subjective opinion of that member or external author, and not of Refurber.com Pty Ltd. If you are searching for health related advice we strongly suggest you seek professional medical support. View our Terms of Service for more details.

Sounds like a great idea. another website called minti which is for parents does this also, and it's a great idea.

Oh fun! I didn't know about the awards and statistics.  Thanks.  I'm not really sure how the lounge works-maybe someone who knows can write up something about it.

I don't think any one is using the Lounge feature at present. You have to become someone's friend first in order to post into their Lounge.

The Lounge is a private area where you and your friends can post things privately to one another.
