Wooden Floors Suck

by angiehComment Published at 19:5719:573 comments 3 comments78 Visits 78 Visits
Wooden floors suck - at least when you're having them in the dining area because the floors scratch so easily. Someone told us to put felt under the chairs so the floor boards don't scratch or to put a carpet underneath the table. The only problem is that the table extends itself - it goes from being able to seat about 6 people to about 12 people!

Maybe someone should invent an extending rug.

Ceiling fixed!

Our ceiling has now been fixed, thanks to some very speedy repairmen.

We also received a call from our insurance that we have to pick out a new tv and dvd player that were damaged in the living room, so yesterday my step-dad and I went to Harvey Norman (electrical goods department store) and we were informed that we had a set amount that we could spend any where in-store. So for example if we were allowed $1000 to spend and only spent $500 on the tv, we could use $500 on something else in-store. Cool huh?

The tv that they recommended to replace the old one was a LG which apparently is the more updated model than our old one, and has 1000 HZ or something... whatever that means. It comes with a free DVD/VCR Recorder and Player combo; but the machine looks super old!

Mum is waiting for our home theatre speakers to be replaced. The only problem is that you can't get those speakers any where in Australia. She specially bought those speakers from Asia as those are the ones that are best for karaoke. So I'm not sure how that's going to pan out... ie whether they'll give us the money for it, or we'll have to choose some second-rate home theatre speaker system.
