Well, my son's room has been finished for a few weeks now...just got a bit slack at getting the pictures off of the camera.

One wall is Fire Engine Red and the rest are a creamy pale yellow. Colour is called Custard Bake!

Here's the pics:

Kitchen tiles with grout

The grout between the tiles go done a couple of days after Christmas but I have only just put the photos onto the computer.
So here they are:

The grout is a smokey grey colour as white would have stood out too much.
Next is the lino!!

My Kitchen Has New Tiles!!!!

Comment Published at 18:0018:002 comments 2 comments76 Visits 76 Visits
The new tiles went up today. There is no grout between them yet as they have to sit for 24 hours before the grout can go up so that will be done after Christmas. The photos don't really look as good as it looks in reality but it is a huge improvement on what was there before.

Also got my Christmas present from my parents today....a new clothes line!!!!! YAY my old one is SOOO crappy. That will go up after Christmas as well. No looking forward to digging the hole though...the ground is rock hard here.

Will put another pic up when the grout is done

Painting of the kitchen

Comment Published at 19:2419:240 comments 0 comments31 Visits 31 Visits
The paint on some of the kitchen walls was so thin it was back to plasterboard in some spots. The cupboards were an awful blue that was full of chips and scratches.  I wanted the kitchen to be different shades of blue as I have the willow pattern dinner set.
Here are some before and after pics:

Now just need to get some new tiles for on the wall and new lino for the floor. Also looking to get one of those wood slat venetian blinds for the window.

The Start of the Renovations

The first thing to go once I bought the house was the horrible archway between the lounge and kitchen. It had these horrible fake brick-look tiles around the edges that you were sure to hit your head or elbow on if you got to close to it. It had a rough finish so did some damage to the skin!
I wanted to make the area more open so between me, my dad and my 6 years old son we made it happen. Here are some pics:
This is what it looked like before
