The chair rail is also a great application this is actually a three part system to give the chair rail some depth and dimension.  This was also required to compensate for the depthe of the plybead.  I utilized three elements a trip of oak that measured 1/4" thick by 3/4".  A strip 1/2" thick by 3/4" for the top above the chair rail and then the chair rail itself.  These individual pieces were stained and clearcoated and the end result was a stunning piece that had dimension and also a very solid feeling.  You can make some fantastic finished products by layering different elements.  I hope you enjoy this "Awesome idea".
