honed caesar stone -- want to polish it

i bought caesar stone countertops 2 years ago in honed concrete. i'm not having an issue with stains but i don't like the way it always feels dirty (waterspots, etc) (the fact that i don't keep a spotless kitchen does not help). is it possible to get it polished and/or treated in some way so that it has the more shiny polished surface without removing it?

thanks!

What do you think is missing in the renovation industry?

Hello all,

I as some of you may know am a remodeler located in the Fargo Moorhead area and I always look for ways I can improve my services to consumers.

I have come here to ask you what kinds of things do you see missing from the home improvement industry.

Maybe it is online DIY countertops which I am now offering.  Maybe it is a certain service that you have said why doesn't someone offer this?  Maybe it is a certain product that you may have asked why doesn't someone do this or make this?

I am looking for your input to hear what you have to say and I look forward to seeing your responses!

Sincerely,

James D. Van Raden

shower surround...

This little house we just bought has some interesting "fixes".  One is that the shower surround is exterior vinyl siding.  While I am sure it is effective at keeping the water off the drywall it isn't very attractive.

We have a lot of work to do to this house and are on a budget.  I would love some suggestions of things that I could do myself to replace that siding.  I am a average strength gal so pelase no suggestions that take a lot of brawn.  Budget is definately an issue but I would like it to look  nice as well.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can share.

decking - bending out of shape

I've just laid timber decking in my backyard - 6m x 12m, and all is well, but what is the likelihood that the planks will bow or bend out of shape and what can I do about it if it happens? It is secured down with 2 nails at each point, every 2 metres or so on each decking plank. Can I simply bang a few extra nails in to keep it down?, do i need to take off and replace the planks that bend? Do I treat it with a product? Hasn't happened yet, but i am keen for ideas... dan

Leaky Pipe Problem

Hiya guys....

I have a problem with a pipe leaking but because of its location I'm not sure if its something I can fix or if its something I ''have'' to have a professional to do...money is VERY tight at the moment so my biggest priority is to try and stop the leak until I can afford to have it done properly...

The pipe runs into the wall from outside and the leak appears to be from there but I don't know how far back or if it is close to the bricks - I'm guessing that it is as I can hear a little bit of a spray - if that makes sense to ya'll...

I've uploaded some pics of the pipe in hope that it will be easier to understand where I'm coming from and named them simply leaky pipe 1 - 3.

I would appreciate ANY help that I can get.

The pipe is also on my kitchen wall but its too far to the side for it to be running directly to the sink or whatever else....

Thank you in advance for your help....

Cheers

OB

Stone tile floors in a manufactured home

We were thinking of doing some 2'x2' stone tile in our manufactured home, but I've heard two different stories:  One says no problem, the other says I'll need to reinforce the floors somehow.  Anyone ever deal with this?

Roll on roofing

All right, part two to my last question.  I've got the OSB on, and now its time to lay down some 15lb. felt, and roll on roofing.  My question is has anyone ever used roll on?  I'm told it will be difficult to deal with being cold out.  I've also heard varying amounts of overlap between rows.

Long reach nailing for roofing

Let's just say I'm a husky gentelman, and I am redoing the roof to our deck, which was damaged in a recent windstorm.  I am nervous about crawling out on it to nail down shingles.  Do they make any kind of 6 foot long hammer or any other tricks to do this?

Repairing scratches in finsish on bamboo floor

While I love the bamboo flooring we laid in our home it is very easy to scratch.  I have put felt pads on everything that touches the floor but still, we managed to get some scratches.  They do not go into the wood but are on the finish.  My question is, is there a way to refinish small sections of a floor like this?  I have posted a picture here.  http://www.refurber.com/members/janeybug/photos/489?msg=C620-EA35-CB03-B0DA   Thanks!

Electricians

I had an electrician who came out and prepared my extension - running the cables and so on - so I could plaster and finish the room. He has also disappeared off of the face of the earth and now I have to find a new one...

Because I was referred to this electrician I didn't hesitate or ask any questions when I hired him - nor did I think to ask. However, considering I have to hire someone else I'd like to know what are the main things I need to know, consider or ask when looking for an electrician.

Thanks in advance

Granite, Corian or Caesar stone?

We are in the process of building our kitchen and we are contemplating as to which benchtop option we should use. We are aware of the cost of Granite and can afford Chinese Granite although we now hear is a inferior product, hence we are looking into alternatives. Our Island bench is 2300 x 800 and of course we would like to eliminate joins. If some one could shed some light it would be most appreciated.
