Big Mike,

I almost forgot, to apply the stuff is real easy most of the products have a glue that is heat activated and so all you do is lay it on and apply heat.  The heat source required differs from manufacturer to manufacturer but some of them are as simple as applying an iron to the wood surface and rub a dub dub.

Just check at the source as you may also need to get one of their edge trimming devices.

Good Luck!

Re: edging ply wood cabinets

Big Mike,

There are some options at hand.

One, depending upon the style of cabinets you have you could leave them and just stain them.  On some of the contemporary styled furniture the ply look is exposed and makes for a phenomenal finished product.  Lets say you have a light stained maple and you are going to apply brushed nickle bar hardware then you could make a stunning statement by just leaving them.

Now here is another option.  If it is edge banding that you are looking for then you can visit your local big box store or lumbr yard.  They will be able to get you the products that you will need.  You can also google search "edge banding" and it will lead you to a couple different sources.

Make sure you know what the species is of the veneer that is on your cabinet fronts as you will want to mach this same species OR you can go with a opposing color and opposing species for a cool contemporary look.

I wish you good luck and if you need any other direction please do not hesitate to ask!

Sincerely,
